Tribute: Prof. Michael Biryabarema, ACT Board Chair

The Africa College of Theology family mourns the home-calling of our beloved Board Chair, Prof. Michael Biryabarema, a man who was far more than a leader among us. He was a father, a pastor, a mentor, and a shepherd to the staff and faculty of ACT. Prof. Biryabarema served with uncommon humility, wisdom, and unwavering faith, giving himself selflessly to the mission of theological education in Africa. His life modeled sacrificial service, quiet strength, and deep compassion for people, leaving an indelible mark on our institution and our hearts. He embodied redemptive servant leadership not merely in word, but in daily practice, leading not from position, but from devotion to God and love for others. As we grieve, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to his beloved family, trusting that the God of all comfort will surround them with peace and strength. We also stand with the wider Body of Christ in Rwanda and beyond, giving thanks for a life well lived and a servant who has finished his race faithfully. Though he has departed from our sight, his legacy of self-sacrifice, faithful service, and Christ-centered leadership will continue to inspire ACT and the global Church for generations to come.
